Is Google != Search soon?

Google has been synonymous with human lives for the past 2 decades. Every component of information search has become associated with google. In fact, people don’t ask you to search something. They end up asking you to Google the thing. That is the power Google has had on search and its resulting impact on human lives has been unprecedented. It is unimaginable to think that Google’s search can be threatened the way Yahoo was in the yesteryears. While the threat has not fully materialized yet, but Google’s heydays as the Messiah of Search may soon be outnumbered. A couple of days back, ChatGPT launched its search which spells direct competition for Google in its search.

Many search engines have come and gone, but Google’s search has always stayed at the helm. ChatGPT’s search can be seen as just another competition, but the story is very different in this case. ChatGPT is associated with Gen AI and conversational AI since 2022 and it is a well-known fact that Google’s AI initiative in B.A.R.D followed by GEMINI came up short of ChatGPT and was unable to capture any market share. The high technical superiority of ChatGPT indicates that it may even be able to crack the search code.
